Reflection Blog of the Semester

1. What were you expectations for this course and where they met?

My expectations for this course was to understand the definition of art, and how artists create it.  My expectations were met, and exceeded through out this whole course.  I believe now that even though I am a terrible artist myself-I understand the meaning behind the illustration.

2. Now that you've been through this course, What is art? How would you define it now compared to your initial posting?

Art is the individual form of self expression that the artist has whether it is implemented on a canvas, created in a sculpture, or whatever he or she desires for it to be.  I believe that when I had first posted what I thought art meant, I was very closed minded.  I didn't really understand what art was, or why someone created it.

3. Who was your favorite artist in your original posting and who is your favorite visual artist now? If there is a difference, why do you think so? If you have the same favorite artist, why do you think so?

Actually yes.  My favorite artist is Vincent van Gogh, and it still is after this course.  We were introduced to many different artists and learned about their backgrounds but he is still one of my favorites.

4. Now that you've completed this course, how do you feel about taking an online course? Is your answer the same as it was in your first posting? How is it the same or different?

I love taken online courses.  Personally because my work schedule is so demanding, it allows for me to do what I need to during the day at work-then focus on my school work in the evening.
